Life doesn’t happen in a series of stiff poses and forced "cheese!" smiles. It happens in the quiet breaths, the belly laughs, and the fleeting glances you wish you could bottle up. That’s why I created Silent Statement Photography. My goal isn’t just to take a photo; it’s to capture a "silent statement"—that authentic, emotional moment that speaks louder than words ever could.
Based in Westwood, MA, I specialize in professional portrait photography rooted in emotive storytelling. I’m not here to just document what you look like; I’m here to archive how you feel.
Whether I’m capturing the delicate, brand-new details of a newborn session, the vibrant energy of a high school senior, or the professional edge of a personal branding session, I focus on creating a visual statement that is uniquely and unapologetically you.
I believe every session should be a relaxed, fun experience (even for the dads!). From our first chat to the final reveal of your professionally edited images and heirloom albums, I’m dedicated to preserving your memories with artistic integrity and heart.
A creative space for every milestone.
While I’m always happy to meet you on location, my Westwood studio serves as a quiet, professional home base for a wide variety of sessions. It’s a space designed for comfort, creativity, and focus—whether we’re capturing a tiny new addition to the family or a bold new look for your brand.
From milestone portraits and professional headshots to creative sessions and customized setups, the studio offers a controlled environment to make sure your "silent statement" is captured perfectly.
By Appointment Only
I work by appointment to ensure every client has the studio (and my full attention) all to themselves. Whether we work in-studio or outdoors, my goal is the same: to create a relaxed experience and a lasting visual statement.

I’m Pia, and my approach to photography is rooted in a lifetime of observation and a deep love for family. As a mother of six adult children and a former Occupational Therapist specializing in infants and children, I bring a unique level of empathy, patience, and developmental expertise to every session. This background allows me to connect deeply with my subjects—especially newborns and children—ensuring a comfortable, safe, and stress-free environment that results in truly natural expressions.
I fell in love with photography when I was just a young child and I have never looked back. I remember my first 126 film Instamatic camera and how excited I was to receive the pictures I got back from the lab each and every time I sent out a roll. There was nothing like the surprise and excitement when I opened the envelope to see that I had captured that silent statement, that special moment, that fleeting smile in a photograph.
Over the years, my favorite gift to give and to get, have been photography books, cameras, and camera accessories. Who doesn't love a cool camera strap? In college, I took some photography courses and fell deeper in love with my hobby. Although my degree and professional experience were actually in Occupational therapy, specifically working with infants and children, photography was my passion. I stopped working outside the home when I was expecting my fourth child to focus on my family but have never stopped taking photographs. Over the year, I’ve taken countless photos, just ask my six kids. When I'm not taking pictures, or editing them, I like to spend time with my family. I love animals, visiting Disney World, the White Mountains and football, especially the New England Patriots. I’ll be sharing pictures of all of those things and a lot more on my blog.
Photography is such a meaningful part of my life. I believe that photographs are important and the best kind, tell a story. My goal for my portrait photography is to capture those stories, those special times, those silly quirks and those little things that make you who you are. I like to see the essence of whoever is in front of the camera, whether for a headshot, an everyday stage or a special event, a newborn photography session, children, families or a high school senior pictures. Each photograph captures a moment in your life – or your children's lives, preserves them and makes a statement. Now that you know a little bit about me, I'd love to hear more about you. I am based out of Westwood, MA, but am always open to travel! Contact me to discuss working together and making your Silent Statement.
